BLOOMING CLOUDS 도심 속에 피어오른 구름 Cultural Center Design in Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea 서울특별시 강남구 대치동 945-2, 3, 4 필지에 증축된 근린생활시설 <<빗썸나눔센터>> In the complex and bleak Teheran-ro of Gangnam, we proposed an ‘urban oasis’ where tired city dwellers can catch their breath and recharge, through an exterior design that is fresh and innovative, and outdoor spaces that express comfort and mystery. This concept helps establish a new identity for the Gangnam area. 복잡하고 삭막한 강남 테헤란로에 산뜻하고 참신한 외관 디자인과 편안함과 신비함을 드러내는 외부공간을 통해 지친 도시민들이 숨을 고르고 재충전할 수 있는 ‘도심 속 오아시스’를 제안하여 강남일대에 새로운 아이덴티티를 구축하였습니다. The building’s Cloud Facade evokes the imagery of water and clouds, reminiscent of an oasis mirage shimmering in the vast desert. The balloons nestled between the scaffolding structures symbolize hope and evoke the image of a floating oasis, a dream suspended and hovering in the sky. 건물의 Cloud Facade는 사막의 오아시스를 연상시키는 물과 구름의 이미지를 형상화하고 있습니다. 구조물 사이 사이에 자리잡은 풍선들은 희망을 상징하며, 신기루 현상과 같이 하늘에 떠 있는 오아시스의 환영을 연상시킵니다. From illusion to a tangible reality We often speak of “chasing mirages” as a metaphor for pursuing the unattainable. Yet imagine the exciting moment of realization that the distant mirage you once beheld is no illusion, but a tangible piece of reality. The Mirror Wall surrounding the outdoor space serves as a medium, blurring the line between reality and illusion, inviting visitors to step into a world where dreams and reality intertwine. 환상적인 것을 비유적으로 말할 때 “신기루를 쫓는다”라고 얘기합니다. 하지만 멀리서 바라보았던 신기루가 환상이 아닌, 현실의 일부라는 것을 깨닫는 순간 우리가 느낄 수 있는 희열을 상상해보았습니다. This is a construction site for a neighborhood living facility located in Nonhyeon-dong. Reinforced concrete construction, which is responsible for the safety of the building, has been completed successfully.
We will communicate frequently with the site and collaborate together to supervise the construction process in the future faithfully until the end.

논현동에 위치한 근린생활시설 시공현장입니다. 건물의 골조 공사가 무사히 끝났습니다.

Urban Mirage Pop-up Store ( 도심속 신기루같은 팝업스토어 ) 현장 사진 This is a construction site for a popup store located in Daechi-dong. The construction of the steel frame that forms the framework of the building has been completed successfully. The front part will be composed of a curtain wall and will become an iconic pop-up space. 시간의 틈새로 마주한 역사

Lee Kun-hee Museum International Design Competition Entry (Top 10)
이건희 기증관 건립 공사 설계공모 '참가작 - Top 10'

Unprecedented Public Figure, Uncovering the Past, 'Continuous Strata of Time' Seeing the Present and the Future.
한 번도 본 적없는 새로운 박물관의 유형, 과거를 통하여 '연속된 시간의 켜' 현재와 미래를 바라보다.

We focused on the symbolism of the land in Songhyeon-dong, located at the center of Seoul's history and culture.
The layer of time was made part of the exhibition by utilizing the strata of the land that were revealed during the construction process for the construction of the donation hall.
We propose an architectural type that provides a new exhibition experience that has never been seen before in Korea or the world.
While viewing the exhibition, visitors can look back on the history of the land that holds memories of the past.

서울의 역사와 문화의 중심에 위치한 송현동 대지의 상징성에 초점을 두었습니다.
기증관 건립 공사를 위한 건축행위 과정에서 드러나는 땅의 지층을 그대로 살려 시간의 켜를 전시의 일부로 만들고,
국내에서도, 세계에서도 한번도 본 적 없는 새로운 전시 경험을 제공하는 건축 유형을 제안합니다.

A Reborn Tower that Resembles a Twin
쌍둥이 같이 생긴 다시 태어난 타워

서울특별시 강남구 논현동에 위치한 근린생활시설
Neighborhood Facilities Tower Design in Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea

논현동 골목에 과거부터 현재까지 이어진 정체성이 부족한 것에 초점을 두었습니다. 기존의 건축 양식에서 벗어나 새로운 것을 통해 정체성이 부족한 뒷 골목에 아이덴티티를 부여하여 새로운 이미지와 가치를 만들수 있는 참신한 외관 디자인을 제안합니다. 현재 논현동 골목에 들어선 건축물들은 오래전부터 사용되어져온 벽돌을 재료로한 경우가 대부분으로, 과거의 붉은색 조적 벽돌 건축에서부터 길이가 긴 벽돌 재료를 주외장재로 사용하고 있는 추세입니다. 논현동 골목에 획일적인 디자인이 아닌 새로운 아이덴티티를 가질 디자인을 제안합니다.

Discovering New Identity
: Fragmented Gangnam

파편화된 강남의 건축물 디자인에 새로운 정체성을 부여하면서도, 합리적이고 경제적인 구조와 공간 레이아웃, 그리고 섬세한 디자인 디테일을 모두 갖춘 계획안을 제안합니다. 이는 강남의 다채로운 건축적 특성 사이에서 획일된 정체성을 부여하여 지역의 아이콘으로 자리잡는 것을 목표로 합니다. (일부발췌)

We focused on the lack of identity in the alleys of Nonhyeon-dong from the past to the present. We propose a novel exterior design that can create a new image and value by giving an identity to the back alleys that lack identity through something new, breaking away from the existing architectural style. Currently, most of the buildings in the alleys of Nonhyeon-dong are made of bricks that have been used for a long time, and there is a trend of using long bricks as the main exterior material from the red brick construction of the past. We propose a design that will have a new identity, not a uniform design, in the alleys of Nonhyeon-dong.

Discovering New Identity
: Fragmented Gangnam

We propose a plan that provides a new identity to the design of fragmented buildings in Gangnam while providing a rational and economical structure, space layout, and delicate design details. This aims to establish itself as a local icon by providing a uniform identity among the diverse architectural characteristics of Gangnam. (Excerpt)

"Gangbuk Triscape" has three important concepts from urban scale to human scale.
Firstly, the concept of three peaks of Mountain reflects the topographical characteristics of Gangbuk-gu, and secondly, the human scale reflects the scale of the site's vicinity. Lastly, the idea is to expand pedestrian flow through connections with the city.

“강북삼경”은 원거리 경관의 차원에서부터 인접한 휴먼스케일까지 세 가지의 중요한 컨셉을 갖습니다.
첫째로, 세봉우리의 개념은 강북구의 지형적 특징을 반영하고 있으며, 둘째로 휴먼 스케일은 대지 인근의 스케일을 반영합니다. 마지막으로 도시와의 연결을 통해 보행자의 흐름을 확장시키는 아이디어입니다.
