Project Description


In the complex and bleak Teheran-ro of Gangnam, we proposed an ‘urban oasis’ where tired city dwellers can catch their breath and recharge, through an exterior design that is fresh and innovative, and outdoor spaces that express comfort and mystery.
This concept helps establish a new identity for the Gangnam area.


복잡하고 삭막한 강남 테헤란로에 산뜻하고 참신한 외관 디자인과 편안함과 신비함을 드러내는 외부공간을 통해 지친 도시민들이 숨을 고르고 재충전할 수 있는 ‘도심 속 오아시스’를 제안하여 강남일대에 새로운 아이덴티티를 구축하였습니다.

The building’s Cloud Facade evokes the imagery of water and clouds, reminiscent of an oasis mirage shimmering in the vast desert.
The balloons nestled between the scaffolding structures symbolize hope and evoke the image of a floating oasis, a dream suspended and hovering in the sky.


건물의 Cloud Facade는 사막의 오아시스를 연상시키는 물과 구름의 이미지를 형상화하고 있습니다. 구조물 사이 사이에 자리잡은 풍선들은 희망을 상징하며, 신기루 현상과 같이 하늘에 떠 있는 오아시스의 환영을 연상시킵니다.

From illusion to a tangible reality, we often speak of “chasing mirages” as a metaphor for pursuing the unattainable.
Yet imagine the exciting moment of realization that the distant mirage you once beheld is no illusion, but a tangible piece of reality.
The Mirror Wall surrounding the outdoor space serves as a medium, blurring the line between reality and illusion, inviting visitors to step into a world where dreams and reality intertwine.

환상적인 것을 비유적으로 말할 때 “신기루를 쫓는다”라고 얘기합니다. 하지만 멀리서 바라보았던 신기루가 환상이 아닌, 현실의 일부라는 것을 깨닫는 순간 우리가 느낄 수 있는 희열을 상상해보았습니다.
Cloud Facade 옆의 외부공간을 둘러싸고 있는 Mirror Wall 은 이렇듯, 현실과 환영의 경계를 모호하게 해주는 매개체의 역할을 합니다.
